Oliver Dreesen

After completing his undergraduate degree in Bern, Switzerland, Oliver Dreesen worked as a research technician at the Institute Pasteur in Paris and the University of California, San Diego. In 2001, he started his Ph.D. at the Rockefeller University in New York, styuding the role of telomeres during antigenic variation in Trypanosoma brucei. In 2009, Oliver joined the Institute of Medical Biology in Singapore to investigate the role of telomeres and senescence in the accelerated ageing syndrome Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria. He was promoted to Project Leader in 2013 and to Principal Investigator and head of the laboratory of Cell Ageing in 2016.
